We’re planning on taking Merrik to Disney later this year for a much needed vacation and some quality family time. Probably around September or October. I haven’t been since I was 8 years old, so I’m very clueless. I would love to hear your expreriences and recomendations. We will be staying in the park so we can see the fireworks and all- she even wants to stay in Cinderella’s castle one night.
Any feedback would be appreciated! Which resorts do you like? What are some must do activities for a 4 year old? Leave a comment, or shoot me an e-mail (mark@markeric.net) if you have any input. Thanks!

I really liked Animal Kingdom. It had such a mellow vibe when I was there and everything just smelled great….I know that’s weird but it does. And I LOVED waking up to see giraffees off my balcony!!!!!! We are planning to go when Mac is old enough. It will be a couple of years though.
PS Cinderella’s castle is pricy and booked years in advance…at least that is what I am told.

arrrg….Yeah, I just checked on Cinderella’s castle- they only have one room. They randomly pick visitors each day to give them the opportunity. Bummer.
We’ll probably stay at the Animal Kingdom- that sounds great! Thanks Clever

Mark, we have been countless times since Lindsay was born. Through the years we have stayed in almost every hotel at one time or another. We love the Beach Club hotel the best. It has a water shuttle or walk trail into the back entrance of Epcot and MGM. The pool has sand in the bottom of it and is so huge that it connects with the Yatch Club hotel. It is awesome! Even if you don’t stay there ( you know you could stay in a more affordable place, all of the property hotels are super), go to the soda fountain, “Beaches and Cream”. They have the best hamburgers and shakes. The enviroment is really cool and you can see the pool while you are there. Animal Kingdom Hotel is neat as well, if fact you and Heather should visit the lobbies of the good hotels, just to see them! Animal Kingdom, The Wilderness, Polynesian, Floridian, and The Beach Club are our favorite. Each hotel has a different enviroment. If you go to Disney to just do the parks, you are missing the whole idea! Sure you need to go to the parks, but don’t let that be all you are there for! We just got back and the crowds were terrible for spring break, however, they have extra magic hours for Disney guest. You can go early in the morning or late in the evening after the parks close. We are late night people, so we didn’t go much in the daytime. We accomplished all we wanted to do in the extra magic time! You are going at a great time of the year, maybe the crowds won’t be as bad. The area that Merrik will enjoy will be the Fantasy Land at the Magic Kingdom. There is a 3-D show there that is so cute! In fact, all the 3-D shows she will enjoy. Muppet Vision 3-D at MGM is great. There are rides that you just must do such as Soarin’ in Epcot. Little Mermaid theatre at MGM – I could go on and on, but I think you ask for advice, not a travel planner! Oh, we took the Disney Cruise several years ago and I just wish we could do it again! The ship was great, the private island was awesome, the food was exceptional, the entertainment for the kids was 2nd to none…Just ask me if you have questions and if I can, I’ll try to help you. I love our Merrik – she is just a great little girl! Just a word of caution though, Jim and I started Lindsay and Matt going to Disney when they were Merrik’s age and now they don’t want to go anywhere else! Have fun!!
