What Photographers do away from the wedding-

I had the chance to hang out with my good friends, Steven Schaefer (videographer), and Adam Hudson (photographer from Jackson MS)- who came down to help shoot Mike and Joye’s wedding. Sunday morning, before we met the wedding party at The House of Blues, we took a stroll around the French Quarter for some fun shots.

D’Ann and Grant are engaged!

I’ll have the opportunity to shoot D’Ann and Grant’s wedding this October. This is a great couple who have devoted themselves to the ministry. I’m sure great things are in store for you guys, can’t wait for the wedding! (these were actually shot a few months ago)

Britney and Chip- Shreveport, LA

Britney was so beautiful, which isn’t anything out of the ordinary. She and Chip were married in Shreveport in a gorgeous ceremony. I always enjoy working with kids, and I couldn’t have asked for better kids than those at this wedding. We even took Mini-Bride and Mini-Groom out for session of their own. I also had the honor of shooting with my friend from Natchitoches, Chris Reich. Thanks Chris!

Our spring contest is winding down this week. We don’t offer Children’s portraiture very often since Wedding Photography is our main focus.

Disney- I need your advice :)

We’re planning on taking Merrik to Disney later this year for a much needed vacation and some quality family time. Probably around September or October. I haven’t been since I was 8 years old, so I’m very clueless. I would love to hear your expreriences and recomendations. We will be staying in the park so we can see the fireworks and all- she even wants to stay in Cinderella’s castle one night.

My little angel

I can’t believe I’m posting angel wings on my website- ha ha. (If you’re looking for pictures with angel wings, try Sears, …. )

Merrik and I were goofing off this weekend, painting with light. I made her an angel, but when she saw the picture, she thought she was on fire. I never said I could draw…

My 3 year old wants to get married…

She told me before church that she was going to ask her friend, Jackson, to marry her. (Jackson’s mom already told me that Jackson wants to marry her because he likes her pigtails.) I just figured if she is growing up this fast, I need more pictures…. so we went out to Lake Buhlow for some snapshots (notice she isn’t wearing pigtails, lol).

Oh yeah- she’s changed her mind now. She wants to be Dora when she grows up, and I told her that I don’t think Dora is married. So we are safe for now, sorry Jackson.

07/07/07- who’s getting married on the “lucky” day?

Word is that this is supposed to be one of the hottest dates ever, so many vendors are raising their prices for that one day. We don’t plan on raising prices for that day, but the inquiries are starting to come in.

Just a reminder for all of you newly engaged couples- if you are planning a wedding on 7/7/07- book fast with all of your vendors. More people will be getting engaged around Valentine’s day, so now is the time to book with your photographer, videographer, florist, baker, coordinator, band/DJ and other vendors. Don’t wait, it may be very tough to find availability after the 14th.
